Giving back to OUR COMMUNITY

Camp Grom Field

How a Crush BECOMES A CAUSE...

A few years back, Waterman's launched a viral campaign called #CRUSH4GOOD & committed to donate $500,000 to help make a project called Camp Grom a reality. With your help, we're closing in on reaching our goal.

Camp Grom

is a one-of-a-kind adventure park being built right here in Virginia Beach - just about 2 miles South of Waterman's - to serve wounded warriors, families of the fallen & adults & children with disabilities.  We are eager to see the park open & begin to bring smiles & fun to so many.

For more information about Camp Grom, the first of its kind along the East Coast, please visit www.campgrom.com.

We give back THANKS TO YOU!

The spirit of giving back is in all we do. In every Crush we hand-squeeze & every sustainable seafood option we lovingly prepare. But we can't do it without our customers. Since 1981, you all have given us the opportunity to serve you not just in the restaurant, but through the community events & fundraisers we do all year long. Here's a peek a just a couple of them - offering ways you can get involved to help us help our community & bring even more awesomeness like Camp Grom to our own back yard.

GOAL!

ON OUR WAY TO 500 K!

2017 Crush N' Run

We challenge YOU...

Waterman's, Chix on the Beach and The Shack are challenging all Crush Lovers to push their limits in an all-out, crushin’ good 5K and Beach Run. Crush-inspired running gear is strongly encouraged. The course will bring runners down the Virginia Beach Boardwalk, onto the beach and under the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier—finishing with the reward of an Orange Crush and a HUGE after party at Virginia Beach’s favorite outdoor oasis, The Shack on 8th Street.

Be a part of this community event and crush your sole for a great cause. Money raised from this event will help us reach our half a million dollar commitment to Camp Grom, a therapeutic sports camp for wounded warriors, families of the fallen and adults and children with disabilities.

Just how far will you go for an ORANGE CRUSH?

The South End Trifecta of Waterman’s Surfside Grille, Chix Seaside Grille & Bar and The Shack on 8th, wants to see just how far our customers will go to get their hands on the drink that has inspired a cult-like following in Virginia Beach—The Orange Crush—sparking the introduction of its newest event and charity fundraiser, the Crush N' Run 5K & Beach Run to benefit Camp Grom.

Mid-Atlantic Rockfish Shootout

Giving back through our FISHING COMMUNITY...

Every December, Waterman's Surfside Grille hosts avid anglers for the Mid-Atlantic Rockfish Shootout. The Rockfish Shootout began in 2004 – born out of a Virginia Beach fisherman’s love for angling the shores of the Atlantic along the Virginia Beach oceanfront. It occurred to him, as it has to many, that not only are the waters off of Virginia Beach plentiful with fish, but they truly offer as good—if not better—fishing than anywhere on the East Coast.  Proving it would become the passion of the tournament director and Waterman's owner, Mike Standing, Jr. This passion has catapulted the Mid-Atlantic Rockfish Shootout to become one of the largest Rockfish tournaments in the country and has helped Virginia Beach garner its proper angling recognition.

The Rockfish Shootout

has provided thousands of pounds of skinless rockfish filets to area food banks over the years - equating to over 50,000 individual meals for our homeless community.  Also to-date, the tournament has donated funds to CHKD to help build a family room at the hospital, aptly named, 'The Rockfish Room,' and additional money has been given to local charities and local fishermen in need.
